The Duinger Forest is a nature reserve in Lower Saxony spots Duingen in the joint community Leinebergland in Hildesheim .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 202 is 326  hectares . It is part of the FFH area "Duinger Forest with Doberg and Weenzer Bruch". The area has been a nature reserve since October 12, 2000. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Hildesheim district.

The nature reserve is located south of Duingen. It places part of the Duinger Forest in the north of the Hil under protection. The forest area is characterized by old oak stands that grow on sandy to clayey locations. It is partially interspersed with beeches and other deciduous trees . Beech forest dominates a small area . Part of the forest area is made of coniferous wood. The spruce dominates here . These areas are to be converted into naturally occurring deciduous forest communities.

Streams flow through the forest area. These have carved their way deep into the subsoil with countless meanders , pools , bank breaks and landings of various substrates . In floodplains and wet depressions , alder - ash - alluvial forest and birch - alder - break forest are predominant.

A former hut forest can be found in the north-west of the protected area . The forest area is crossed by the Königsallee. This is lined with oaks.
