The Leinebergland community is part of the Hildesheim district in Lower Saxony (Germany). It was formed on November 1, 2016 through the merger of the municipalities Gronau (Leine) and Duingen . The administrative seat is in the small town of Gronau (Leine) , in Duingen there is still a branch office with a citizens' office . It is the only integrated community in the Hildesheim district.

Joint community structure

history

Since 2013, the joint municipalities of Gronau (Leine) and Duingen have been negotiating the merger into a joint joint municipality, and in winter 2014 all member municipalities agreed to the merger. At the same time it was also decided to merge the municipalities of the joint municipality of Gronau (Leine), with the exception of Eime, with the city of Gronau (Leine) and the municipalities of the joint municipality of Duingen with the Duingen district .

Joint mayor of the municipality

On September 11, 2016, Rainer Mertens (SPD) was elected Mayor of the Municipality with 55% of the vote . His deputies are Volker Senftleben (SPD), Klaus Krumfuß (CDU) and Karl-Heinz Gieseler (SPD).
