The ponds at Ore and Finkenbruch in Solling are a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Holzminden and in the community-free area of ​​Merxhausen in the Holzminden district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 228 is approximately 3 hectares in size. The 2.57 hectare FFH area “Teiche am Erzbruch and Finkenbruch im Solling” is part of the nature reserve. The nature reserve is completely from the conservation area surrounded "Solling Vogler". It has been under nature protection since June 30, 2016. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Holzminden.

The nature reserve, which consists of two sub-areas, is located southeast of Holzminden in the Solling-Vogler Nature Park in the Weser Uplands . It places several near-natural bodies of water under protection that were created in the 1980s and contain the great moss maiden , for which the nature reserve is of particular importance, as well as other dragonfly species , including the spear maiden .

The sub-area "Waldteiche am Erzbruch im Solling", located east of the Holzminden district of Mühlenberg , consists of ten ponds situated in moorland vegetation largely dominated by pipe grass . The sub-area "Teiche am Finkenbruch im Solling" located west of Merxhausen and northwest of Hellental consists of three ponds on a small forest clearing on both sides of a forest path . The ponds have open water areas as well as underwater and floating leaf vegetation . Located in the shore areas Verlandungs vegetation of peat moss , onion and Tonquil , sedges and cattails.

The parts of the nature reserve are surrounded by forest. In the nature reserve, decussing measures are regularly carried out to remove emerging trees .
