The Bohlberg is an elevation of the Hils and a nature reserve in Lower Saxony in the community-free area Grünenplan in the district of Holzminden .
Nature reserve
The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 198 is 110 hectares in size. It has been under nature protection since August 3, 2000. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Holzminden.
The nature reserve is located southwest of the Delligsener district Kaierde on Bohlberg and Hohesteinskopf on the east side of the Hils-ridge inclined towards the Hilsmulde. The nature reserve is characterized by grove-beech forest , on small sandy locations also by sessile oak-beech forest with a high proportion of old and dead wood . In addition, spruce , larch and Douglas fir, which are not typical of the site, can also be found coniferous trees that are to be converted into near-natural beech forests.
The forest area has a characteristic for the area, moving relief with deep V-shaped valleys , moderately to steeply inclined slopes, hollows , back and Plateau were to narrow ridges and hilltops .
