The Tuchtberg is an elevation upstream of the Vogler and a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Dielmissen in the integrated municipality of Eschershausen-Stadtoldendorf in the Holzminden district .
Nature reserve
The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 119 is approximately 21 hectares in size. It is completely part of the EU bird sanctuary "Sollingvorland". The “ Lenne ” nature reserve runs directly to the south . Otherwise, the nature reserve "Tuchtberg" from is the conservation area "Solling foreshore-Weser valley" surrounded. The area has been a nature reserve since May 21, 1987. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Holzminden.
The nature reserve is located southwest of Dielmissen and southeast of Kirchbrak . It places an abandoned limestone quarry in the south of the Tuchtberg and part of the deciduous forest area to the north under protection. The quarry is characterized by quarry walls up to 40 meters high, on which the various layers of shell limestone emerge. There is semi- arid grass at the top of the dismantling walls . A valuable wetland habitat has developed on the bottom of the quarry .
The deciduous forest adjacent to the quarry has a well-developed, species-rich herb layer . In the edge areas of the nature reserve there is partly grassland .
The quarry and its peripheral areas should largely be left to their natural development. The semi-arid grassland and the wet biotope should be protected in their development.
