The Graupenburg is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon community Bevern in the Samtgemeinde Bevern in the district of Holzminden .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 197 is 60 hectares in size. It is completely part of the FFH area "Burgberg, Heinsener Klippen, Rühler Schweiz" and the EU bird sanctuary "Sollingvorland". The “ Heinsener Klippen ” nature reserve connects to the west .
The nature reserve is located southwest of the Bevern district of Lütgenade within the Solling-Vogler nature park . It protects an area of near-natural deciduous forests on a ridge made of shell limestone . The nature reserve is characterized by beech forests (woodruff beech forest and orchid beech forest). In addition, the ship mountain in the northeast area of the nature reserve radicals formerly as especially in the area coppice -used oak-hornbeam forests to find.
The forests have a high proportion of old and dead wood as well as a species-rich wood and herb vegetation. The forest coats and borders are structured in many ways.
The area has been under nature protection since August 2, 2001. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Holzminden.
