The Kathagenberg is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Fürstenberg in the joint municipality of Boffzen in the Holzminden district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 111 is 18  hectares in size. It borders on the "Solling-Vogler" landscape protection area in the northeast and southeast . It has been a nature reserve since September 11, 1986. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Holzminden.

The nature reserve is located west of Fürstenberg on the edge of the Solling-Vogler Nature Park . It protects an exposed slope of the Weser towards the southwest , which is characterized by protruding rock formations. The impact slope consists of beech forest, which in the northern area is partly old coppice forest , which merges into high forest with old and dead wood to the south . Predominant tree species are beech, oak, ash, maple , red oak , hornbeam and wild service tree .

In the transition area from low to high forest there are four abandoned red sand quarries that are left to develop naturally.

A hiking trail runs through part of the nature reserve and its surroundings.

Fürstenberg Castle with the Fürstenberg porcelain manufactory is located on the edge of the slope above the nature reserve .
