On Kuhlmann mountains is a nature reserve in Lower Saxony spots Aerzen in the district of Hamelin-Pyrmont .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 128 is 7  hectares in size. It is located directly south of the Aerzen district of Grießem within the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park and protects an area with semi- arid grassland and dry bushes as well as grassland and old orchards on slopes of the Fleizberg that are exposed to the east and south-east. The nature reserve protects remnants of the earlier forms of cultivation on the shallow weathered calcareous rock in the Pyrmonter Bergland .

The area has been a nature reserve since May 5, 1988. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Hameln-Pyrmont.
