The Saubrink / Oberberg natural forest is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Salzhemmendorf and in the Coppenbrügge area in the Hameln-Pyrmont district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG HA 097 is 240  hectares in size. It is completely part of the FFH area "Ith" and almost identical to the natural forest reserve "Saubrink / Oberberg". The nature reserve is completely enclosed by the " Ith " nature reserve, which was designated in 2008 . The area has been a nature reserve since May 22, 1986. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Hameln-Pyrmont.

The nature reserve is located within the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park in the north of the Ith, southwest of Coppenbrügge. It is characterized by extensive, near-natural forest areas - beech forest communities , dry limestone slopes and maple - ash trees - ravine forests - which are no longer cultivated. As natural forests, they should be left to their natural development.

In the herbaceous layer are spring flowering bulbs such as Corydalis , daffodils and wood anemones to find. Furthermore, here grow arum , yellow archangel , lily of the valley , hellebore , daphne and goldenrod and orchids like the orchid . There is also abundant moss and lichen vegetation.

The north and west of the reserve there are several distinctive rock formations of the Ith comb outcropping layer rib of Korallenooliths (Adam and Eve, Falkenstein, flags stone and Garwindelstein) and a landslide (Devil's Kitchen). Most of the rock formations are designated as natural monuments .
