The Sollberg is an elevation on the edge of the Ith and a nature reserve on this elevation in the Lower Saxony municipality of Salzhemmendorf in the Hameln-Pyrmont district .

Nature reserve

The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 169 is 13  hectares in size. It is completely part of the FFH area "Ith". The "Ith" nature reserve connects to the southwest. The area has been a nature reserve since September 29, 1994. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Hameln-Pyrmont.

The nature reserve is located southeast of Wallensen within the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park on the eastern slope of the Ith. It protects a semi- arid lawn with dry bushes on the elongated limestone ridge of the Sollberg with adjacent grassland . The semi-arid lawns are remnants of earlier cultivation on the shallow, weathered limestone rock. In the west of the nature reserve silting ponds, in the east a stream with alluvial forest remnants and small fish ponds adjoin the semi-arid grassland.

Maintenance measures ( mowing and extensive grazing) are carried out to maintain the semi-dry lawn .

The nature reserve is almost completely surrounded by agricultural land .
