Geology and landscape

The Thüster Berg is a fold made of Thüster limestone . On the steeply sloping north flank, mostly hidden in the forest, there are several limestone cliffs that have been named Eck-, Dreck-, Falkenturm and Liebesnadel. The rock balcony corner tower ( 380  m above sea level ) protrudes a little to the northwest below the Kansteinkuppe as a natural lookout pulpit out of the forest. There are abandoned limestone quarries on the southwest side of the ridge .

The Thüster Berg is densely populated by forest, especially deciduous forest. Birch and pine trees , among other things, also thrive .

Towers

On the Kanstein, the main summit ( 441  m above sea level ) of the Thüster Berg, there is the Lönsturm observation tower ( 440  m above sea level ) and about 1 km further east-southeast a telecommunications tower ( 433  m above sea level ).

hike

Numerous forest paths lead over the Thüster Berg, including the Ith-Hils-Weg . A hiking trail leads over the ridge of the ridge past the corner, Löns and telecommunications towers from Salzhemmendorf to Marienhagen.
