Werner Frick (politician)

Werner Frick (born May 12, 1955 in Bozen ) is an Italian politician from South Tyrol .

Life

Frick studied law at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Padua , which he completed with a thesis on the autonomy of South Tyrol . Frick, who had been deputy chairman of the young generation during his student days , initially worked as a lawyer in Bolzano, later as director of the South Tyrolean Hotel and Restaurant Association (HGV).

In the 1988 elections, Frick was able to win a mandate for the state parliament on the list of the South Tyrolean People's Party and thus at the same time for the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . In his first legislative period he was elected to the South Tyrolean provincial government , where he worked in the Durnwalder I cabinet as provincial councilor for handicrafts, trade and tourism. In this position he remained in the Durnwalder II , Durnwalder III and Durnwalder IV cabinets until 2008, when he left the state parliament and the state government. In addition to his political activities, Frick was also chairman of the South Tyrolean economic ring. From 2009 to 2011 Frick was director of the trade and service association (hds).
