Werner Immler

Werner Immler (born December 7, 1882 in Weißenburg in Bavaria as Werner Karl Franz Immler , † June 10, 1965 in Augsburg ) was a German aircraft technician .

Life

Werner Immler was born in 1882 as the son of District Court Councilor Leopold Immler (1850-1893) and his wife Thekla, b. Schreiner (1860–1941), born in the south of Central Franconia . From 1902 he studied mathematics and physics in Munich. In 1908 he passed a state examination and was employed as a teacher at the secondary school in Augsburg . In 1910 he switched to the State Maritime School in Elsfleth ( Lower Saxony ), where he was appointed director in 1914 and director in 1932. During his time at the State Maritime School, he made several world trips. He also held lectures in economic geography at the Hindenburg Academy in Oldenburg from 1926 . From 1928 he turned to aviation technology. In 1935 he became a senior councilor in the Reich Ministry of Aviation . After the Second World War he was again a high school teacher in the St. Anna high school in Augsburg. He died in Augsburg at the age of 82.

Act

Immler wrote several textbooks, calculators, and maps. He improved the capabilities of the compass, simplified the astronomical position line determination and the use of suitable map designs and radio bearings. In 1931 the Immler-Schily-Plath wind measurement and drift device was developed. He calculated the networks of as Consol designated beacon .

From 1907 to 1935 Immler was a member of the German Physical Society .

Private

Immler was of the Lutheran faith . In Herrsching he married in 1912 Frieda, born von Wachter, (* 1888; †?). The couple had a son and three daughters.
