Werner Karma

Werner Karma (pseudonym: René Volkmann ; born February 13, 1952 in East Berlin ) is a German poet, writer and rock lyricist .

life and work

Werner Karma is the son of a communist of Jewish origin who emigrated to Denmark in 1939. His paternal grandmother was murdered in Auschwitz concentration camp .

He learned to be an agricultural technician by 1971 ; In 1979 he finished his studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin with a philosophy - diploma . Karma has been writing since 1972, was at the East Berlin Liedertheater Karls Enkel from its founding in 1976 until 1980 and has been a freelance lyricist in the rock, pop, chanson and songwriting scene ever since.

Karma worked with many well-known soloists and bands, including Silly , City , Monokel , electra , NO 55 , Stern Meißen , the Puhdys , the songwriter duo Pension Volkmann , with the customs officers , Hansi Biebl , Veronika Fischer , Edo Zanki , Holger Biege and Joachim Witt .
