Werner Peters (born July 14, 1941 in Düsseldorf ) is a German philosopher , writer , patron and hotelier . In previous years he also worked as a journalist and political advisor .

education

Werner Peters studied classical philology and philosophy in Tübingen ( Leibniz Kolleg ) and Bonn and received his doctorate in 1967 on the subject of studies on onasander . This was followed by a study visit of several years in the USA, with stations at Harvard University and at the American Congress .

Professional

From 1970 to 1972 Peters worked in the CDU's federal office in Bonn. There he was office manager and personal assistant to the federal managing director Rüdiger Göb and u. a. responsible for the organization of the first environmental conference of the CDU.

Between 1972 and 1982 Peters worked as a political advisor.

Patronage

In 2013, Werner Peters donated the painting Sympathische Kommunistin by Martin Kippenberger to the Museum Ludwig in Cologne as a partial donation .

From 1987 to 2014 Werner Peters regularly organized the lecture and discussion format “Philosophy in Café Central” in Cologne. During the 27 years of this philosophical series, guests included Peter Sloterdijk , Götz Werner , Christian Felber , Matthias Horx , Jochen Hörisch , Harry Rowohlt , Claus Leggewie , Claus Butterwegge, Johan Galtung

Werner Peters was the founder of the party of non-voters (1998) and co-founder of the Cologne volunteer agency.

In June 1989, Werner Peters was a guest of a live broadcast on Deutschlandfunk of the Streiflichter broadcast “Philosophy in the Café” in Cologne's Café Central.

Werner Peters was a co-founder of the German Association for Parliamentary Issues (DVParl) (1970).
