Werner Pinzger

Paul Emil Rudolf Werner Pinzger (born September 12, 1878 in Reichenbach in Silesia , † September 15, 1939 in Leipzig ) was a German judge .

Life

P. was the son of the secondary school director Prof. Dr. phil. Paul Pinzger was born in Reichenbach in Silesia. Until 1901 he studied law at the Universities of Göttingen , Halle and Leipzig . During his studies in Göttingen he became a member of the Brunsviga fraternity in 1898 . In 1901 he was sworn in to the Prussian sovereign. In 1903 he received his doctorate in Leipzig . In 1907 he became an assistant judge at the AG Magdeburg and in 1910 a land judge at the LG Magdeburg. He took part in the First World War as a field war judge. In 1920 he was appointed to the chamber judge . From 1921 to 1924 he was a member of the DVP . In 1928 he came to the Reichsgericht . He was in the II. , IX. and I. Civil Senate .

In addition to his judicial office, Pinzger was a private lecturer in patent law at the Technical University of Berlin-Charlottenburg (1928–1933) and honorary professor for copyright and industrial property protection at the University of Leipzig (1933–1939). In March 1929 P. was appointed deputy member of the Reich Disciplinary Court by the Reich Minister of the Interior and worked there until January 1932. He was a member of the Academy for German Law . Initially, he was a member of the Intellectual Property Committee. There he played a key role in the new patent law of 1936. He was later appointed to the Committee for Competition and Trademark Law and Chairman of the Subcommittee on design law appointed, where he had completed the draft of a new Design Act. Pinzger was chairman of the Literary Chamber of Experts for the Free State of Saxony . On April 20, 1938, Adolf Hitler awarded him the Loyalty Service Medal in recognition of 25 years of loyal service. Pinzger died on September 15, 1939 due to a heart attack and was buried in Leipzig's southern cemetery.
