West Access Route

The West Access Route is a Canadian trunk road. Like the East Access Route , it is not a highway in the strict sense of the word, but a combination of different roads that provide access to the Alaska Highway from the southwest.

The starting point of this route is Seattle in the state of Washington , the end point is the symbolic starting point of the Alaska Highway at the intersection of 102nd Av./10th Street in Dawson Creek in eastern British Columbia .

The route runs on different roads:

  • Seattle - Bellingham: Interstate 5 (to Exit 256)
  • Bellingham - Lynden: Washington State Highway 539
  • Lynden - Nooksack: Washington State Highway 546
  • Nooksack - Sumas: Washington State Highway 9 (to Huntington border crossing)
  • Huntington - Abbotsford: Highway 11 (to Exit 92)
  • Abbotsford - Cache Creek: Highway 1 , ( Trans-Canada Highway )
  • Cache Creek - Dawson Creek: Highway 97
