White Light, White Heat, White Trash (German roughly: "Weißes Licht, Weiße Wärme, Weißer Abfall" ; "White Light, White Heat" refers to the album of the same name by The Velvet Underground White Light / White Heat . White Trash is a common term in the USA for the white-skinned lower class.) is a studio album released in 1996 by the Californian band Social Distortion . While the three previous studio albums by Social Distortion show influences from blues , country music and rock 'n' roll , White Light, White Heat, White Trash mark the (intermittent) return to a clearly more punk rock- heavy sound.

The German music magazine Visions , however, included the album in its lists of the "best albums of the 90s" (32nd place) and the "150 albums for eternity" (44th place). It also appears in the list of "500 CDs You Must Own Before You Die" from US magazine Blender and the " 500 best albums of all time (Rolling Stone) ". Rock Hard magazine put the album at number 123 on its list of 500 titles. Frank Albrecht wrote that the record was “ the best songs Social Distortion have ever written.
