Wierzchlas (German Falkenwalde ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Today it is located in the Gmina Mieszkowice ( Bärwalde municipality ) and belongs to the Gryfiński powiat ( Greifenhagen district ).

geography

Wierzchlas is located on DK 31 , 5 km north of the center of Mieszkowice and 13 km from the southwest border with Germany.

history

Before 1945 Falkenwalde formed a rural community in the district of Königsberg Nm. the Prussian province of Brandenburg . Falkenwalde had 288 inhabitants in 1933 and 275 inhabitants in 1939. The place has belonged to Poland since 1945.
