The Wildalpe is 1523  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Styrian part of the Mürzsteg Alps .

It is part of the main Alpine ridge , which continues north over the Lahnsattel  ( 1015  m ) to the Göller  ( 1766  m ) and west over the Freinsattel  ( 1106  m ) to the Hohen Student  ( 1539  m ). Valley locations are Frein in the southern uppermost Mürz Valley and Terz in the northern Salzatal .

At the eastern end of the gentle, elongated and unwooded Wildalpen ridge is the extensive Sulzrieglalm (around  1150  m ). There is also a transmitter near the summit.

There are no marked paths leading to the Wildalpe, but the summit is often climbed, especially in winter, due to its wide view and its avalanche-safe descents. The shortest approach is from the Lahnsattel via the Sulzrieglalm.
