Wildenstein is a district of the Presseck market in the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach .

The place is in the south of the municipality, just under 4 km south of Presseck and above the valley of the Lower Steinach with the Steinachklamm . The ruins of Wildenstein Castle , eponymous for the von Wildenstein family, sit on a rock . Wildenstein is connected to the neighboring towns of Schlopp, Neumühle and Waffenhammer via country roads.

Before the municipal reform , Wildenstein was an independent municipality with the districts Neumühle , Papiermühle , Premeusel , Schlackenmühle , Schlopp and Waffenhammer . In 1974 all places were incorporated into the community of Presseck.
