Wilfried Lochte

Wilfried Lochte (born January 16, 1928 in Walle ; † March 7, 2011 ) was a German manager .

Life

Lochte put in 1947 at the Lessing School in Braunschweig , the High School , and graduated in 1951 studying for a graduate engineer in mechanical engineering at the State Engineering School Wolfenbüttel from.

From 1951 to 1953 he worked as a designer at the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg , then at Büssing in Braunschweig, where most recently he was head of sales for trucks and buses in Germany. In 1958 he switched to sales for the truck company MAN , where in 1967 he became director responsible for the German sales of trucks and buses. Since 1974 he has also been responsible for foreign sales, cooperation with other companies and market research. Since July 1979 he has been a member of the company's board of directors with overall responsibility for the commercial vehicle sector. In 1985 he became Chairman of the Management Board of MAN Nutzfahrzeug AG and was a member of the entire MAN AG Management Board.

Until 1993 he held various supervisory mandates in the MAN Group, until 1996 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG. In March 1999, at the request of the state government of Lower Saxony , he took over the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG , which he held until March 31, 2007. He was appointed honorary chairman and served as a member of the supervisory board until May 2008.

His tenure included the takeover of Mannesmannröhren-Werke AG from Mannesmann AG, which was dissolved after the takeover by Vodafone , as well as individual management of salaries in the company's annual report.

Awards

Wilfried Lochte was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1991. He received an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Braunschweig in 1992 and was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 1987 and the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 2006. He received the city medal of the city of Salzgitter.
