The Moto Guzzi Stelvio is a motorcycle from the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Guzzi , which was produced in Mandello del Lario from 2008 to 2016 . The travel enduro was presented in November 2007 at the EICMA two-wheeler fair in Milan and is named after the Stilfser Joch (Italian Passo dello Stelvio ).
Technical specifications
The engine called Quattrovalvole comes from the Griso / Breva series and has been optimized with modified camshafts for the benefit of a better torque curve.
drive
It is driven by an air / oil-cooled, longitudinally installed two-cylinder motor . The four-stroke engine produced from 1151 cc a nominal power of 79.4 kW (108 hp) at a speed of 7500 min -1 . The maximum torque of 113 Nm at a speed of 5,800 min -1 to. The two cylinders have a 95 mm diameter bore , the pistons have a stroke of 81.2 mm with a compression ratio of 11: 1. The cylinder angle of the V-engine is 90 °. Each cylinder head has an overhead chain-driven camshaft that controls two intake and two exhaust valves.
The 2-in-1 exhaust system is made of stainless steel and has a three-way catalytic converter with two lambda probes , the pollutant values are below the limit values of the Euro-3 emissions standard . The fuel tank holds 32 liters, of which 7 liters are in reserve. The manufacturer recommends using unleaded petrol with a knock resistance of at least 95 octane.
landing gear
The chassis consists of a tubular steel frame with a supporting motor. A hydraulic upside-down fork from Marzocchi with a 45 mm standpipe diameter and 170 mm travel steers the front wheel. The rear wheel is guided by a single-sided swing arm with progressive deflection, which is dampened by a central spring strut from Sachs-Boge with a progressive lever system and 155 mm of travel. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a cardan shaft with two joints and a torque support integrated into the single swing arm .
brake
The front wheel is decelerated by a double disc brake with perforated, semi-floating steel discs and radially mounted four-piston calipers. A perforated disc with a 282 mm diameter and double piston calipers are mounted on the rear wheel. The brake lines are steel sheathed. The brake system has an anti-lock braking system and a disengageable traction control system as standard .
Reviews
"All in all, the Stelvio offers an independent appearance with a high level of equipment, hydraulic clutch actuation, butted aluminum handlebars, wire-spoke wheels, aluminum rear silencers and a standard engine guard."
“The Stelvio is a real chunk, but it skilfully hides its weight, both visually and when driving. It can be used in many ways and is also suitable for smaller people. Once used to dealing with the performance gap, the Guzzi impressed with driving dynamics and acoustics in cruising and sports. "
"Whether or not it manages to attract some potential GS customers to the Italian warehouse will also depend not least on whether the technicians get a grip on the low-torque engine in the lower speed range."
“The big Moto Guzzi is for people who like air-cooled two-cylinder engines but don't want to ride a German Enduro - among modern motorcycles there is only the Stelvio. Its dimensions are just as impressive as those of the white and blue competitor, and the weight is even significantly higher. "
