Wilhelm Alexander von Dohna-Schlodien

Wilhelm Alexander von Dohna-Schlodien (born January 31, 1695 in Mohrungen , † July 9, 1749 in Mallmitz near Sprottau ) was a royal Prussian lieutenant general, chief of infantry regiment No. 38 and knight of the Pour le Mérite and the Order of St. John . He was the son of Christoph I. zu Dohna-Schlodien and Frederika Maria von Dohna .

Life

In 1708 he went to the Prussian Regiment No. 5 (Armin). On December 1, 1713 he became a captain, on January 20, 1716 major, on 1719 lieutenant colonel and in June 1728 colonel. Under Frederick II he received the newly established Infantry Regiment No. 38 in 1740. In 1742 he was appointed Major General and on March 18, 1745 Lieutenant General, he was also awarded the Order of the Black Eagle .

He fought in the Pomeranian campaign in 1715/1716 , as well as in both Silesian wars.

He was married to Henriette Sophia Countess von Roedern (* January 8, 1694, † June 1778). She was the daughter of Count Heinrich Gottlob von Roeder (1646–1726) Herr auf Mallmitz. The couple had the following children:
