Wilhelm Böhmer (theologian)
Georg Rudolf Wilhelm Böhmer (born March 5, 1800 in Burg (near Magdeburg) , † November 25, 1863 in Breslau ) was a Protestant theologian.
Life
Wilhelm Böhmer attended the Joachimsthalsche Gymnasium in Berlin from 1814 to 1819 . He then studied at Berlin University and completed his habilitation there in the theological faculty in 1824. In 1825 he became an associate professor of theology at the University of Greifswald . From 1828 to 1829 he taught on behalf of August Tholuck at the University of Halle . After his return he returned to Greifswald and became a full professor there in 1830. At the University of Bonn he became a doctor of theology doctorate . In 1832 he went to the University of Breslau as the successor to Daniel von Cölln , where he completed his habilitation again in 1833. He dealt mainly with church history as well as Christian dogmatics and ethics .
