Wilhelm Horkel

Wilhelm Horkel (born December 3, 1909 in Augsburg , † July 29, 2012 in Munich ) was a German Protestant pastor , writer and poet .

Life

Wilhelm Horkel, son of the merchant Walter Horkel, who worked in Starnberg , and Johanna, née Moser, graduated from high school near St. Anna in Augsburg, subsequently studied Protestant theology , philosophy , church music and literature at the universities of Erlangen , Tübingen and Goettingen . After his ordination , Wilhelm Horkel was initially employed as pastor in Neu-Ulm , and from 1940 in Dietersdorf . He worked there until 1952, with a war-related interruption from 1942 to 1945. Wilhelm Horkel then took over the pastor's position in Lindau . Most recently he worked in Munich St.-Matthäus from 1968 .

Wilhelm Horkel was married to Käte, nee Bazlen. He died in Munich in 2012 at the age of 102.

Wilhelm Horkel, who worked for many years in church magazines and developed a wealth of lecturing activities at adult education centers, academies and conferences, emerged with literary works in the areas of religious poetry, essays , pastoral care, anthologies and parapsychology .
