Wilhelm Ruland

Wilhelm Ruland (born October 15, 1869 in Bonn , † July 29, 1927 in Munich ) was a German writer .

Life

Wilhelm Ruland studied literary history and modern languages ; He completed these studies in 1896 at the University of Rostock with the promotion to Doctor of Philosophy from. He then worked as a private tutor , at times also as a prince tutor , in Bavaria , Austria and Italy . From 1898 to 1902 he was an editor and publishing director in Leipzig . He made extensive trips to the Middle East and eventually settled in Munich. There he was part of the editorial team of the Münchner Neue Nachrichten ; at last he lived as a freelance writer.

Wilhelm Ruland wrote stories , poems and plays ; His Rheinisches Sagenbuch was particularly successful , from which numerous editions and translations appeared from the first edition in 1896 until the 1930s .
