Willi Rehbein

Wilhelm ("Willi") Rehbein (born January 12, 1911 in Hanau ; † July 22, 1995 there ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After secondary school and commercial college, Willi Rehbein attended the municipal civil servant seminar in Frankfurt am Main . In 1927 he was an apprentice, in 1929 an employee of the Hanau city administration. In 1933 he was dismissed for political reasons. Until 1941 he was an employee in various companies. So he worked z. B. at times as a diamond driver and accountant. Since February 1944 he served as a soldier. In April 1948 he returned from Soviet captivity and was employed again by the Hanau city administration. There he became head of the welfare office in 1949 and head of the social department in 1951.

Willi Rehbein died on July 22, 1995 in Hanau and was buried in the cemetery in the Hanau district of Klein-Auheim .

politics

Willi Rehbein had been a member of the SPD since 1929. In 1949 he became the first chairman of the local SPD association in Hanau-Stadt, and until 1960 he was also a member of the district executive committee of his party. From 1952 to 1956 he was a city councilor, from April 1, 1960 to 1974 mayor of Klein-Auheim . After Klein-Auheim was incorporated into Hanau in 1974, he was head of the Klein-Auheim administration office until his retirement in 1975. From December 7, 1959 to November 30, 1966 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament. In 1964 he was a member of the 4th Federal Assembly .

Other offices

Willi Rehbein was the founder and chairman of the Alte Fasanerie wildlife park in Klein-Auheim. At times he was also chairman of the workers' welfare organization in Klein-Auheim.

Honors

In 1987 he received the silver medal from the city of Hanau. The sports hall in Klein-Auheim was renamed Willi-Rehbein-Halle in early 2011.
