Willi Strobl

Willi Strobl (born August 8, 1914 in the Kingdom of Bohemia ; † February 1997 ) was a Sudeten German football player .

Life

From the age of 16, Willi Strobl first played as a goalkeeper for VfB Teplitz . After injuring his elbow joint six years later, Strobl was retrained as a defender. As a field player, Willi Strobl was appointed to the football team of the Sudeten German Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association, for which he was active in several European countries.

After he had also played at Teplitzer FK and VfL Günzburg , Willi Strobl was active for Sportfreunde Stuttgart in the 1947/48 season . From the league season 1948/49 Strobl played for SSV Reutlingen 05 , which was then still active in the Oberliga Südwest . In the 1949/50 season , Willi Strobl led SSV Reutlingen to the championship in the group south of the Oberliga Südwest as center runner and team captain. After he lost with his team in the final of the finals for the southwest German championship against 1. FC Kaiserslautern , Strobl was southwest German runner-up. In the round of 16 of the finals for the German championship in 1950 he lost with SSV Reutlingen against Prussia Dellbrück . The following season , which the SSV denied after changing associations in the Oberliga Süd , ended for Strobl and his Reutlingers with relegation to the II. Division .

As a 39-year-old Willi Strobl became a player-coach at TSG Reutlingen . Strobl was still active in the Emil Adolff operating team when he was 60 years old.
