Enforsaken was an American melodic death metal band from Chicago , Illinois , that was formed in 1998 and disbanded in 2006.
history
The band was formed in the winter of 1998 by Steve Stell and Pat O'Keefe. Stell initially took over the electric guitar, vocals and bass, and O'Keefe took over the vocals and drums. Together they recorded a first demo. Then came as guitarist Joe DeGroot and singer Steven Sagala to the cast. Shortly afterwards, bassist Eric Kava joined the band and completed the line-up. Pat O'Keefe left the band in spring 2002 and was replaced by drummer Dave Swanson.
In December 2000 the band recorded the EP Embraced by Misery . The EP was released in the US in June 2001 via Lifeless Records and in Europe in September via Lifeforce Records . The EP received reviews among others in the Terrorizer (music magazine) magazine.
This was followed by appearances with bands such as Shadows Fall , Strapping Young Lad , Naglfar , Dismember , Enslaved , Lamb of God , Vader , The Haunted , Witchery , Immolation , Dead to Fall , The Crown , Kataklysm , Malevolent Creation , Luliacry , Catastrophic , Krisiun , Macabre , Darkest Hour , Disinter , Martyr Ad , Abolisher , Dead for Days , The Chasm , Veneficium , Origin , All That Remains , Insurrection , Between the Buried and Me , Ice-T and Body Count , Desolate and Corpsevomit .
As a result, the band reached a contract with WW3 Music in the summer of 2002. The label was supposed to release the debut album, but the label ran into financial difficulties, which led the band to split from this label two months later. In spring 2003 the band signed a contract with Olympic Recordings , and released their debut album The Forever Endeavor on the label in 2004 . The album also featured a solo by James Murphy . In September 2005 the band signed a contract with Crash Music Inc. In 2006 the second album Sinner's Intuition was released on this label. On August 19, 2006, the band played their last gig in Chicago .

The band plays classic melodic death metal and is described as a mixture of Dark Tranquility , the albums Whoracle and Colony by In Flames , and the album Amok by Sentenced .
