Crash Music was an American music label from Phoenix ( Arizona ) that released a wide range of heavy metal .
history
The label was founded in 2001 by Mark Nawara, who shortly before left his previous record company Pavement Music due to a six-figure debt. For sales in Europe he signed agreements a. a. with Zomba Music in Germany and Plastic Head in Great Britain. Distribution agreements with Border Music (Sweden) and Bertus Distribution ( Benelux ) as well as Koch Music in the USA followed. In addition, Crash Music itself was active as a distributor, u. a. for Unique Leader Records , Forever Underground and The Foundry.
The regular publishing activity of the label ends in 2009, the website www.crashmusicinc.com automatically redirects to Pavement Music.
criticism
In an interview, the death metal band Aurora Borealis called it the worst decision to release the debut album "Apocalyptic End in White" of their side project Imperial Crystalline Entombment via Crash Music in 2003. It is typical for founder and CEO Mark Nawara to open a label, accumulate debts, not pay bands and then close the label. So they would not have received any royalties despite supposedly good sales figures.
