At the end of the season, however, they were relegated from bottom of the table and Böhme joined Füchse Berlin Reinickendorf , where he only played in the reserve team as the third goalkeeper behind Klaus Wöller and Herbert Pohl . A year later he played again in the Bundesliga at TSV GWD Minden . After a thigh injury and the associated obligation Herbert Pohl asked for a contract termination and Dankersen got down. Böhme moved to VfL Hameln for the 1986/87 season , with whom he had already suffered his third personal Bundesliga relegation. From 1987 to 1989 he was second goalkeeper behind Stefan Hecker at TUSEM Essen and was involved in the DHB Cup victory in 1988 and in 1989 in the "Double" with victory in the European Cup Winners' Cup and German Championship. By returning to TV Großwallstadt, he was able to defend the 1990 championship title. In the third and decisive final game against TSV Milbertshofen , he held three seven meters. In the 1990/91 season, however, the reigning German champions were only just able to prevent relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga. Böhme joined the SG Leutershausen and became vice-champion in 1992. In the 1994/95 season he played for the second division club OSC 04 Rheinhausen and was promoted to the Bundesliga with the team. Then he returned to southern Germany to devote himself to his profession as a physiotherapist.

Böhme completed several junior and youth internationals. However, he did not play an international match.
