Transport League is a Swedish metal band from Partille that was formed in 1994, split up in 2005 and reunited in 2009.
history
The band was founded towards the end of 1994 by guitarist and singer Tony Jelencovich ( Icon in Me , Mnemic ) as a side project to his former band B-Thong . In 1995, the debut album Stallion Showcase followed, with bassist Johan Reivén and drummer Lars Häglund as well as Jelencovich. Towards the end of 1996 the band went on tour through Scandinavia . On the 1997 album Superevil , the line-up had changed again, so that alongside Jelencovich Peter Hunyadi acted as second guitarist, Ken Sandin as bassist and Mattias Starander as drummer. Various tours followed with this line-up and the third album Satanic Panic in 2000. Then the line-up changed again. In the meantime, Patrik Sten sat on the drums, who after an extensive search had been found to be suitable, but ultimately did not stay. On the 2003 album Multiple Organ Harvest , the band consisted of Jelencovich, drummer Stefan "Stipen" Carlsson and guitarist Adam Magnusson. In 2005 the band broke up for the time being so that Jelencovich could devote himself to other projects. One of his concerns was also to offer the young people in Gothenburg the opportunity to “go crazy” on heavy metal music, which is why he regularly rented a club where only such music was played.
In 2009 the band got together again. After a few appearances, she went into the studio with producer Roberto Laghi ( In Flames , Sonic Syndicate , Mustasch ), with whom the group had already worked on the previous three albums, to record the album Boogie From Hell . The album was self-released in 2013.
style
The music was tonally influenced by groups such as Kyuss , Fu Manchu , Led Zeppelin , Pantera , Sepultura and Machine Head . Jelencovich names groups like Clutch , Pro-Pain and Danzig as his main influences. The music has an aggressive sound, but playing the instruments is technically demanding.
