William James Muhm (born June 27, 1957 in Billings , Montana , USA ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in the US military ordinariate .

Life

William Muhm received on 31 May 1995 in St. Patrick's Cathedral by the Archbishop of New York , John Joseph Cardinal O'Connor , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

He then worked as a pastor in Ossining and Staten Island . In 1998 he became a chaplain in the US Navy . On November 7, 2014, he was promoted to captain. On May 1, he retired from the Navy and served in the Most Precious Blood Parish in Walden , New York.

On 22 January 2019 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Capsus and auxiliary bishop in the US Military Ordinariate. The episcopal ordination received his Military Archbishop Timothy Broglio on March 25 of that year in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of New York , Cardinal Timothy Dolan , and the Archbishop of Philadelphia, Charles Joseph Chaput .
