William Nolan (Bishop)

William Nolan (born January 26, 1954 in Motherwell ) is a Scottish clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Galloway .

Life

William Nolan was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Motherwell on June 30, 1977 .

Until his appointment as bishop he was vicar general of the Diocese of Motherwell.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Galloway on November 22, 2014. He was ordained episcopal on February 14 of the following year by the Archbishop of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh , Leo Cushley . Co- consecrators were the former Bishop of Galloway, Maurice Taylor , and the Apostolic Nuncio in Great Britain, Archbishop Antonio Mennini .
