William Theed the Younger
William Theed the Younger (* 1804 in Trentham , Staffordshire , † September 9, 1891 in Kensington ) was an English sculptor . He was the son of the sculptor and painter William Theed the Elder (1764-1817).
After graduating from the Royal Academy School , Theed worked for the sculptor Edward Hodges Baily . In 1826 he went to Rome , where he stayed for 22 years and worked for Bertel Thorvaldsen and John Gibson , among others .
Theed mainly created portrait statues and busts.
