action

Private detective Georg Wilsberg is with Alex and Ekki at the annual bull ball , which is organized by the farmers in the area. Ekki doesn't really enjoy himself and goes home earlier than the others, taking young Michael Klarmann with him in his car. He wants to get off at the gravel plant because he has parked his car there. On the way there, Ekki has to stop because a dead wild boar is lying in the middle of the road. Both get out in astonishment and suddenly they are shot at. While Ekki is "only" slightly injured, Klarmann is fatally hit by a bullet. Since Ekki believes that this attack was considered an unloved tax auditor, Wilsberg tries to solve the case for his sake. The first thing he finds out is that someone has been targeting a traffic sign with a hunting rifle. Almost all farmers are also hunters, which doesn't exactly make the group of suspects small. Christian Klarman, the victim's stepfather, uses most of the arable and forest areas as a hunting lease, which annoys most hunters and makes them envious. A possible motive for Wilsberg.

In her investigation, Commissioner Anna Springer focuses on the victim's environment. Michael Klarmann was already managing director at the age of 24 because his stepfather had to retire from the company for health reasons. Michael's friend Jule Köhler has only recently been dating the young man, and a jealous friend does not seem to be there. But in the middle of their research, Ekki is shot again, just as he is in his office with his new girlfriend Nicole Bentus. For Wilsberg, this only looks like a diversionary maneuver, because obviously the shooter deliberately missed. Ekki is nevertheless firmly convinced that the shots were aimed at him and he suspects Thomas, the ex-boyfriend of his Nicole. But Wilsberg quickly finds out that Nicole only used Ekki to make a positive tax decision for her.

In his investigation, Wilsberg comes across a special relationship between the victim's stepfather and Irmgard Koehler, the mother of Michael's friend Jule. Klarmann has let the woman live rent-free in one of his houses for 19 years. Köhler's husband has disappeared for just as long, which Wilsberg finds suspicious. He continues his research and finds a skeleton under one of Klarmann's old hunting lodges. When Christian Klarmann confesses to the murder of Günther Köhler because of the find, he is suddenly shot in front of Wilsberg's eyes. The detective sees the solution with Irmgard Koehler. He speaks to her about it and finds out that Jule is Klarmann's daughter. Her husband wanted to blackmail Klarmann with this knowledge at the time and for fear that his planned wedding would then burst, Klarmann shot Günther Koehler.

Since both Köhler and father and son Klarmann were shot with the same weapon, Wilsberg tries to find a solution to the case using the weapon. It must have been accessible to the murderer over the years and so the trail leads to Ulf Hagen, who keeps the guns of the rifle club with him. But not he, but his son Karsten shot the Klarmanns because he had found out that Jule Köhler, whose affections he had been hoping for for a long time, would be the heir to a possible fortune. Little did he know that Christian Klarman was as good as broke and Jule has no interest in him.

criticism

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv judged somewhat cautiously: Wilsberg “is always a welcome change for those who watch crime stories. Not taking all this murder TV Tinnef so seriously is a healthy attitude. Only this 'bull ball' is at best so-so. The case below average and also the joy of playing and wit leave a lot to be desired. "

Quota meter criticized the "in some places unbelievable [e] and inappropriate [e]" dialogue, as well as the "resolution of the conflicts [...] [which] was rather a bad joke". The critics found words of praise for the “complex main storyline around the murder case and the abysses in the Klarmann family uncovered in the course of the investigation.” These were found to be “mostly credibly written.” To attract tension, the build-up of which was unfortunately completely neglected during the very long exposure in the first act. "

The newspaper Voice.de also said: “There have been more cheerful, so also better 'Wilsbergs'. A bit tenacious in places, the film drives towards a reasonably constructed resolution. ”But the thriller“ has some tangible surprises in store. Even experienced crime fans shouldn't necessarily believe their first guesses. "

The editorial staff of TV Spielfilm gave the crime thriller a “thumbs up” and said with praise: “Even the farmers' costumes suggest that the case is miles away from reality again. Nevertheless, in addition to flat puns, there are also fine one-liners. ”Conclusion:“ Moderately lively, but pleasant. ”
