Michael Fritz Schumacher (born January 15, 1982 in Hamburg ) is a German actor .

Life

Education and theater

Michael Schumacher completed an acting training at the University of the Arts in Berlin from 2004 to 2008 . He completed his training in April 2008 with a diploma as a stage actor. For his film work, he attended several workshops, seminars and coaching sessions from 2009 onwards. a. at the Berlin agency “Die Tankstelle”.

During his training he already had various theater engagements in Berlin. In 2005 he played as part of the 300th anniversary of Charlottenburg Palace in the Charlottenburg Palace Park in a performance of the opera The Fairy-Queen . Also in 2005 he performed in the Berlin Sophiensaele in the production Half Eternity . In 2007 he took on the role of Sam in a stage version of Lord of the Flies based on the novel by William Golding at the Theater an der Parkaue .

He also appeared in several theater productions at UNI.T, the theater of the Berlin University of the Arts, as Ferdinand in Kabale und Liebe (2005), as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (2007), both in productions by Gerd Wameling , and as Jean in Miss Julie (2007).

Movie and TV

Schumacher made his first experiences in front of the camera in 2003 with a few short films and diploma films, including the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin . From 2003 Schumacher was also seen in television roles. He had his first television role in the Sat1 television series Alphateam - Die Lebensretter im OP . He then took on several episode leading roles and guest roles on television. In 2008 he played a drama student in the film Die Eisbombe by Oliver Jahn as part of the ZDF series “ Das kleine Fernsehspiel ” . In 2008 he had a small role in the three-part docu-drama The Wolves . In the movie Operation Walküre - Das Stauffenberg-Attentat (2008) by Bryan Singer , he played a young officer while he was still an acting student.

In the ARD series Turkish for Beginners , he had a recurring series role as agency employee Christopher. In 2009 and 2010, the main episode roles followed in the television series In allerfreund (as René, a young man sitting in a wheelchair whose hand is to be amputated after an accident) and SOKO Wismar (as a young groom). In 2009, ZDF hired Schumacher to play a leading role in the series My wonderful family . In the 2009 science fiction film The Founder , published in 2012, Schumacher starred alongside Helmut Krauss and Cecilia Pillado in the role of the porn star Esak DeVito. In the fairy tale film The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs (first broadcast: December 2013) he was the father of the "lucky child" Felix.

In April 2014 he was seen in the ZDF series Coast Guard in a supporting role as Ralf Guthke, who runs a fish shop together with his girlfriend. Schumacher had other episode roles in the series The Public Prosecutor (2015, as the murder victim Max Robra, with Johanna Gastdorf as a partner), Schloss Einstein (2016, as Immobilian-Hai), Großstadtrevier (2017, as "Playboy" Timo Blohm) and the Dr. Kleist (2017, as Carsten Kesting, the husband of a stroke patient ). In the 5th season of the TV series In All Friendship - The Young Doctors (August 2019), Schumacher took on a leading role in the episode as a young man suffering from a blood clotting disorder.

The Eric Dean Hordes film Goblin was released in 2019 .

Others

In addition to acting, Schumacher also produced his own material. In 2013 he produced the independent film Cord , a post-apocalyptic science fiction film, in English with an international team. The film was shown at various festivals around the world. Michael Schumacher also works as a speaker for radio plays , including for Deutschlandradio and Deutschlandradio Kultur , and gives readings. He lives in Berlin and Hamburg.
