My wonderful family is a TV film series that ran on the German TV station ZDF from 2008 to 2010 . In Austria the series is broadcast by ORF 2 .
About the film series
In the series, which takes place in Berlin , are the divorced Hanna Sander (Tanja Wedhorn), who is the mother of 13-year-old Lilly (Alicia von Rittberg) and, as a former rowing world champion, took over youth training at her club, and Jan Kastner (Patrik Fichte ), Father of eight-year-old Tim (Paul Zerbst), in the foreground.
Jan is a successful owner of a coffee roastery and a single father due to the fatal accident of his wife.
Hanna and Jan get to know each other in a car accident. After several meetings, the two fall in love, which is initially not accepted by the pubescent Lilly. After various quarrels and a joint holiday on the Baltic Sea, however, the four of them find each other more and more: Hanna and Lilly move in with Jan and Tim.
After further ups and downs (Jan's parents want to separate, the coffee roastery is facing a hostile takeover, Hanna gets to know her birth father, Lilly is lovesick, etc.) all problems are over and the planned wedding in the closest family circle and then an exciting trip to Costa Rica take place.
