Karsten Wichniarz (* 1951 in Hildesheim ) is a German film director , screenwriter and actor .

biography

Wichniarz graduated from the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin in 1977. From 1979 to 1981 he worked on the camera, for example in the documentaries Die von der Straße and Talentprobe . In the film drama Kein Land (1981) he directed, wrote the screenplay and, alongside Birgit Anders, played Paul, one of the leading roles, a young country man who went to Berlin and, after negative experiences, met the prostitute Mona, whom he met in love. In 1984 he directed the comedy Jagger und Spaghetti , in which Peter Buchholz , Gerlach Fiedler and Sabine Kaack play the leading roles. In the 1986 thriller Blue Moon , Wichniarz worked again with Birgit Anders. He directed and wrote the screenplay for the film.

From 1993 Wichniarz was increasingly active in the field of television series, for example for the Bülowbogen practice , Dr. Sommerfeld - News from Bülowbogen , the crime series In the Name of the Law and above all for the family series The Fallers - A Black Forest Family . In 2000 he directed the Christmas film All Children Need Love with Witta Pohl in the lead role and in 2005 a film from the Rosamunde Pilcher series . In Anna's Second Chance from 2009 he worked with Christiane Hörbiger and Friedrich von Thun ; with Hörbiger he had already filmed several episodes of the television series Two Doctors are one too many from 2006 to 2009 . From 2010 to 2011, Wichniarz directed nine episodes of Germany's most watched television series, Um Heaven . From 2012 to 2017 he worked for Die Rosenheim-Cops and directed eleven episodes.
