Wilson Kipkemboi Kigen
Wilson Kipkemboi Kigen (born September 15, 1980 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .
Life
At the beginning of his career he was particularly successful in road races in the Netherlands . For example, he won the Egmond half marathon twice (2000, 2002), came third at the Dam tot Damloop in 2001 and won the 20 van Alphen and the Tilburg Ten Miles in 2002 .
He later specialized in running marathons . He finished third in the Frankfurt Marathon in 2005 and second in 2008, sixth in the Seoul Marathon in 2006 and seventh in 2007 and third in the 2007 Gyeongju International Marathon . As a pacemaker at the Berlin Marathon 2007 , Kigen also contributed to Haile Gebrselassie setting a new world record.
Wilson Kigen is the cousin of Wilfred Kibet Kigen , the three-time winner of the Frankfurt Marathon.
