Wira Iwaniwna Ulyantschenko ( Ukrainian Віра Іванівна Ульянченко , born February 1, 1958 in Oserjany near Bobrovytsja , Chernihiv Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ), is a Ukrainian politician .

biography

Wira Ivaniwna Ulyantschenko was born on February 1, 1958 in Ozeryany near Bobrowyzja . She graduated from Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev in 1980 . From 1980 to 1981 she taught Ukrainian language and literature at a school in Kiev. From 1987 to 1990 she was a member of the local council of the Kyiv Radjansk district. From 1990 to 1991 she worked as a consultant in the ideology department of the local committee of the Communist Party . From 1991 to 1992 she worked as an editor in the press department of the Supreme Soviet and later of the Verkhovna Rada . In 1993 she was the deputy advisor to President Leonid Kravchuk on scientific matters.

From 1993 to 1994 she worked as a sales representative for the shipping company " Blasco " in Kiev. When the chairman of this company, Paul Kudyukin, was arrested on charges of misappropriating company property, Ulyanchenko moved to the United States for the next five years . According to her own statement, she did this solely to have her daughter there.

From 2000 to 2001 she was the assistant to Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko . From 2002 to 2005 she was the head of the secretariat of the Nascha Ukrajina parliamentary group . From 2005 to 2006 she was a member of the Verkhovna Rada. From July 2006 to May 2009 she was the governor of Kiev Oblast . From May 2009 to February 2010 she was the head of the secretariat of the President of Ukraine .

On March 12, 2011, a Florida district court issued an arrest warrant against Uliantschenko on suspicion of "money laundering" and "export of property stolen abroad". She herself described this as "absolute provocation".

On July 31, 2012, Ulyantschenko was expelled from her parliamentary group by majority vote. Neither the leader of the Yushchenko faction nor Ulyantschenko himself wanted to make the reasons for this public.

Private

Ulyantschenko is married and has one daughter.
