The Witenalpstock is 3016 m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Glarus Alps . The border between the Swiss cantons of Uri and Graubünden runs over its summit .
The Witenalpstock is located in the south-western Glarus Alps, directly to the north-east it is at 3328 m above sea level. M. higher Oberalpstock , south of the Chrüzli pass , from which a mountain range leads to the Piz Nair and Piz Giuv to the west . The Etzlital runs to the west, at its southern end at 2052 m above sea level. M. the Etzlihütte is located. The Bristen is further to the west . The Val Strem leads south to Sedrun in the Surselva .
The summit was first climbed in 1866 by the Uri guide Josef Maria Tresch-Exer together with the Englishman John Sowerby over the northwest ridge.
