Witold Gerutto

Witold Gerutto (born October 1, 1912 in Harbin , China , † October 13, 1973 in Konstancin-Jeziorna ) was a Polish shot putter , discus thrower and decathlete .

At the European Athletics Championships in Turin in 1938 , he won silver in the decathlon and was eighth in the shot put. In 1939 he won silver in the shot put and bronze in the discus throw at the International University Games.

In 1946 he was ninth in the shot put at the European Championships in Oslo and gave up in the decathlon after six disciplines.

At the Olympic Games in London in 1948, he was tenth in the shot put and came in 19th place in the decathlon .
