Wittenwerder was a place near Tutow in the Demmin district , which was located in the area of the Tutow airfield and was removed when it was built.

history

Wittenwerder was first mentioned in a document in 1254 when Duke Wartislaw III. von Pomerania transferred four hooves abandoned for this purpose to the Dargun monastery by the Vogt von Demmin , Ulrich von der Osten . 1278 Wittenwerder was in a document from Duke Barnims III. and mentioned in 1282 in a document from the Bishop of Cammin Hermann von Gleichen . In 1322 a pleban at Wittenwerder was mentioned in a deed of donation from the knight Hinnerk Krohn on Ückeritz . The place had a church and formed a parish with Ückeritz and Tutow . Since the end of the 14th century, the Wittenwerder was in the fief of the von Horn family , for whom the fourteen farmers and two cossets of the village had to do labor.

During the Thirty Years War the place and the church were destroyed by imperial troops and later plundered again by Swedish troops. In a church visitation protocol from 1649, Wittenwerder was described as "until then quite desolate and desolate". In 1684 Philipp Joachim von Parsenow bought Wittenwerder and other villages in the area for 22,000 guilders. In the following year he paid the von Horn family 100 Reichstaler for the transfer of feudal rights , which were confirmed by the Swedish government in 1692. During the Swedish land survey of Western Pomerania in 1698 a farm, a sheep farm and a few inhabited cottages were found.

In 1774 Wittenwerder and the neighboring Kruckow came into the fiefdom of the von Sobeck family. In 1883 Wittenwerder was officially run as a Vorwerk and incorporated into Kruckow together with Tutow .

In 1932 Wittenwerder was acquired by the Reich Ministry of Aviation. In the following time the residents were resettled in the surrounding villages. The place was demolished in favor of the construction of the Tutow airfield.
