Vladimir Ivanovich Ponomarev

Wladimir Iwanowitsch Ponomarjow ( Russian Владимир Иванович Пономар , в , English transcription Vladimir Ponomaryov ; born August 10, 1952 in Raswilnoje , Rostov Oblast ) is a former Soviet middle-distance runner .

Over 800 m he was fourth at the European Athletics Championships in Rome in 1974 and won bronze at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1975 in Katowice.

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he was eliminated over 800 m and in the 4-by-400-meter relay in the preliminary run.

Over 1500 m he was second in the Athletics World Cup in 1979.

In 1975 and 1977 he was the Soviet champion over 800 m, 1977 and 1979 over 1500 m. He won national championship titles in the hall in 1973 over 1000 m , 1977 over 800 m and 1979 over 1500 m.
