Wohlmuthshüll
Wohlmuthshüll is a village in Franconian Switzerland , whose name is derived from a Hüle . Since the administrative reform it has belonged to the city of Ebermannstadt .
Before, during and after the Nazi era , Wohlmuthshüll and the neighboring village of Buckenreuth formed a separate community with around 480 inhabitants. When the mayor, the only NSDAP party member in the community, died in 1942 , no one was found willing to join the party to take on the post of mayor. Wohlmuthshüll and Buckenreuth were then provisionally administered from Ebermannstadt.
The American occupying power honored this behavior of the population by allowing the first free election in Germany with the election of the mayor on July 18, 1945 .
On January 1, 1972, Wohlmuthshüll was incorporated into the city of Ebermannstadt.
