Wolkenstein is a Franconian village that belongs to Ebermannstadt .
geography
The in Wiesentalb located village is one of 17 officially designated districts in Upper Franconia town of Ebermannstadt. It is located about five kilometers southeast of the center of Ebermannstadt and is at an altitude of 482 m above sea level. NHN .
history
Until the beginning of the 19th century Selva had the rule rich immediate subordinate to nobleman, located in the the Frankish knights circle belonging Ritter Canton Gebürg had organized. The place was owned by the von Seckendorff family and was therefore subject to their sovereignty . When the imperial knighthood territories in Franconian Switzerland were mediated in 1805 , the village was annexed by the Electorate of Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the imperial constitution . With this violent takeover, Selva also became part of the New Bavarian territories that were taken over during the Napoleonic land consolidation , which was only subsequently legalized in July 1806 with the Rhenish Federal Act .
As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , with the second municipal edict in 1818 , Wolkenstein became part of the independent rural community of Moggast , to which the wasteland Thosmühle had also belonged. In the course of the communal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Wolkenstein and the municipality of Moggast were incorporated into the city of Ebermannstadt on July 1, 1976. In 1987 Selva had 65 inhabitants.
traffic
Selva is only connected to the public stream traffic network by a spur road that ends in town. This branches off about one kilometer northeast of the village from a communal road that leads from Moggast to the Pretzfeld district of Urspring . The public transport serving the village at a bus stop of bus number 234 of the VGN . The closest train station is in Pretzfeld and is on the Wiesent Valley Railway .
Attractions
On the south-western outskirts of the village are the ruins of Selva Castle , of which only a few remains of the wall exist today.
