The Wohnstift the company CC Christiansen in Flensburg - North City is a former foundation building with the address Turner Mountain 5 and Bau'er Highway 18. It is one of the cultural monuments of the city.

background

The residential monastery was built in 1910/1911 by Magnus Schlichting for the old Flensburg company CC Christiansen . Shortly before, in 1908/09, the St. Peter's Church had already been built on the lower part of the Turnerberg . In the course of time, a number of monastery buildings emerged in Flensburg , such as the Munketoftstift in downtown Flensburg or the Rönnenkamp Stift in Fruerlund . The monastery building on the rising Turnerberg was intended to provide apartments for the elderly and disabled workers of the company. Inside the two-story, simple plastered building with a hipped roof , not individual rooms but ten small family apartments or apartments for married couples were furnished. On the facade facing Turnerberg street is a plaque with the following inscription: "Von der Firma / CCChristiansen / built / AD1911". On the north front to the garden there is a veranda with arbor .
