Wolf Gruber (born April 19, 1969 in Pöchlarn ) is an Austrian cabaret artist , presenter and actor .

Life

Growing up in Pöchlarn in Lower Austria , Gruber discovered his love for the German language and his special talent for languages. With a sharp tongue and pronounced cynicism, he built a fan base at the end of the 1990s as the presenter of the morning show on the Upper Austrian private radio station "92.6", which he designed in a very witty way.

His extraordinary, sonorous voice gave him a leading role in 1998 in the musical production “The Man of La Mancha” , where he played alongside Franz Suhrada .

In the same year Wolf Gruber founded the cabaret group DIE MÄNNER , where he performed together with Alexander Barbier and Manfred Riegler with the programs “Der PS-Report” and “Studenten ohne Censorship”.

In 2001 he switched to Life Radio , from where he left for the stage two years later after more than 800 radio broadcasts full-time. In 2002, after Riegler and Barbier left, he began working in cabaret with his partner Max Mayerhofer. With programs such as “Threesome”, “Zügellos”, “Sex, Drugs & Sanostol” and the current piece “ GENTLEMANIA ”, DIE MÄNNER acted viciously and, above all, witty and with their double confessions they recall their role models Farkas and Waldbrunn .

In 2003, Wolf Gruber brought his first solo cabaret program "Caution Biting" to the stage.

In 2004 he created the EU-English "EULISH" together with Max Mayerhofer . In 2005 he was entrusted with the moderation of gala evenings. In 2008 he and Max Mayerhofer brought the book “Sex, Drugs & Sanostol” to the Austrian and German book markets.

In 2009 he got his first leading role in a movie: "17 Minutes". There he played a master of manipulation under the direction of Jürgen Adelmann. In 2010 Gruber was awarded the “ joker ” of the Ybbsiade . In the same year Gruber got his first TV roles. In addition to “Bad Men”  - a short sketch comedy - he also hosted the program “HOT SPOTT” on ServusTV for a year and a half , where he a. a. stood in front of the camera with Ottfried Fischer or Joesi Prokopetz . In 2011 he was invited to the first episode of the comedy series “KLUG-SCHEISSER & Co.” with the short program “EULISH” by Monika Gruber , Bruno Jonas and Rick Kavanian . In 2012 he started new projects: In addition to the dog comedy show  - where he appeared together with Bernhard Kainz - Gruber also acted again as a solo cabaret artist with his new program "Bettgeflüster" . Here his experiences as a neighbor of Josef Fritzl (Gruber lived next to the Amstettner incest father for several years) are processed as well as his ideas for a new marketing concept for the Catholic Church.

Since 2017 Wolf Gruber has been on the road with his solo program "The Adam and Eve Principle - What Women Should Know About Men ..." and deals with the genetic differences between men and women and the resulting differences in many areas. Why, for example, do men always have to write everything down, be motivated to do everything and constantly exaggerate? Why do women attach so much importance to romance, nag more often and like to gossip?

In 2018 he brought a new kind of motivational cabaret to the stage and combined a motivational lecture with a cabaret program. He especially motivates employees of companies or members of various associations for the corresponding tasks.
